What is Selfstorage?

Our clients rent individual, safe and clean storage units with daily access. Goods are stored by the renter. Pickens offers this service for private customers as well as to businesses.

How much storage room can I rent at Pickens Selfstorage?

Pickens offers storage units from 1 m² (room heights 3m) to 20m². For our business clients we also offer units as large as 80 m². There are about 50 different sizes of units. At our location in Berlin-Tempelhof for example, we have 1.200 storage units.

How long can I rent a storage unit at Pickens Selfstorage?

As long as you like. From 4 weeks with a cancellation notice of 2 weeks.

 
What are the office hours and when do I have access to my storage unit?

Access daily (also on Sunday!) from 6.00am – 10pm

Client Service, Shop and viewing:
Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 6pm
Saturday: 9.00am – 2pm

What kind of deliveries does Pickens Selfstorage accept?

We accept deliveries that do not exceed: 10 packages, 10 kg per package or a maximum of one Europalette. The courier or messenger will have to transport all deliveries to a designated storage unit after checking in with our staff. Our agents cannot accept and store your items at the front desk. You will be informed once your item(s) arrived and may pick it/them up during office hours.

Noone! Only you and the people you authorized to do so. The storage units are locked with your private padlock that you can purchase at our shop if you like. If you want other people to have access to your unit, please inform your customer service representative when you sign the contract, as we may ask for identification if somone other than you uses your PIN Code.

How safe are is my stuff at Pickens Selfstorage?

Pickens clients rent their personal unit. Noone can see into that storage unit and the walls are sturdy and secure. The unit is locked with a personal padlock. The facility has a multilevel security concept:
Individual access control through PIN code, 24 hour video surveillance, security guards at night, dual alarm system, smoke detectors, firealarm, intercom system on every floor - directly connected to the reception, bright corridors and fenced compound.

Does Pickens Selfstorage offer insurance?

Insurance is mandatory. You might be covered with your current household insurance or you can insure your goods with us. Please contact our staff for detailled information.

How much storage room do I need?

Pickens offers storage space in many sizes. Like this you rent exactly the space you need. How much does it cost?

You can get your storage unit at Pickens Selfstorage already for as little as € 39,00 for 1 m² for 4 weeks. Your storage needs and the costs can be determined fast and easy with the Space Calculator.

How do I pay?

Via direct debit or in advance (cash or EC-card) every 4 weeks.

Can I change storage units?

Yes, of course. You can change units, add another storage room to your contract, increase or decrease depending on availability.

Any hidden costs?

NO! Prices are "all inclusive". Other than rent and security deposit there are no hidden fees or additional costs for your Selfstorage unit.

Can I purchase moving and storage supply at Pickens Selfstorage?

Yes. In the Pickens-Shop you can get large and small boxes, boxes for books and for files. All kind of packaging material and shelving. We are also happy to recommend companies for transportation and individual help with your move.

Do you have high quality padlocks?

Yes. The Pickens-Shop offers Abus security padlocks in two sizes.


Which goods are not permitted to store?

Perishable goods, living material, animals, inflamable goods, weapons, explosives of any kind, illegal drugs, narcotics, chemicals and radioactive material, toxic refuse material, hazardous waste of any kind. Any dangerous materials that might affect, damage or impact others through emission.

Is it possible to store my motorcycle?

No. House rules say for your own security: ... no storage of vehicles and mashines that need operating fluids or materials. Water damaging material. That includes shortterm storage.

What should I know before storing?

Protect yourself against carpet and clothes moths. Although we do precautinory pest control on a regular basis, an affection cannot be barred 100%. Textiles should be packed dry but not airsealed.

What is WeinStorage?

WeinStorage means wine storage (you might have guessed that...). We offer storage only for your wine in a separate storage area. Low light impact and the guarantee of an unchanging temperature (13-14 degrees celsius as well as a relative humidity of 73-74%) allow you to store red wine safely and for long periods of time.
