Our clients rent individual, safe and clean storage units with daily access. Goods are stored by the renter. Pickens offers this service for private customers as well as to businesses.

As long as you like. From 1 month with a cancellation notice of 2 weeks.

Pickens clients rent their personal unit. Noone can see into that storage unit and the walls are sturdy and secure. The unit is locked with a personal padlock. The facility has a multilevel security concept:
Individual access control through PIN code, 24 hour video surveillance, security guards at night, dual alarm system, smoke detectors, firealarm, intercom system on every floor - directly connected to the reception, bright corridors and fenced compound.

We offer a secure online solution. As data protection and security is very important to us, we will send information not only via Email, but also as text messages. You will need a Smart Phone to complete the online booking process.

After choosing a storage unit, registering and choosing the start of your rental the following will happen:

  • You will be directed to our payment page.
  • We ask you for an identification by using our partner IDnow - you will receive an Email with a link.
  • You will receive your contract, which must be confirmed via SMS Code, that will be sent to your mobile phone. 
  • Only after sucessful completion of the above 2 steps, we will debit your credit card and you will receive an Email with all needed information to access your storage unit.
  • The pad lock for your rented unit is free. The combination will be sent to you via text message to your mobile phone

Please note that due to security reasons a pad lock change has to be made by one of our agents during office hours.
In case you chose to move in outside office hours, make sure to double check if you received the access and padlock code.

Insurance is mandatory. You might be covered with your current household insurance or you can insure your goods with us. Please contact our staff for detailled information.

Pickens offers storage units from 1 m² (room heights 3m) to 90m², depending on the location you choose. For wine and art lovers and collectors we offer special storage possibilities. Please call for details.

NO! Prices are "all inclusive". Other than rent and security deposit there are no hidden fees or additional costs for your Selfstorage unit. 

For business customers only: additional 19% VAT.

Yes. Our Shop carries large and small boxes, boxes for books and for files. All kind of packaging material and shelving. We are also happy to recommend companies for transportation and individual help with your move.

However, in 2019 we will reduce our Shop articles to padlocks and boxes. 

Perishable goods, living material, animals, inflammable goods, weapons, explosives of any kind, illegal drugs, narcotics, chemicals and radioactive material, toxic refuse material, hazardous waste of any kind. Any dangerous materials that might affect, damage or impact others through emission.

Access daily (also on Sunday!) from 6.00am – 10pm

Client Service, Shop and viewing:Monday – Friday: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
Saturday: 9.00 am – 2.00 pm

Via SEPA direct debit from a German bank account.
We also accept credit cards (no debit or prepaid cards)
A deposit (one month rent) and the first month rent are due upon conclusion of the rental agreement.
This can be paid by EC card, cash or credit card.

We accept deliveries that do not exceed: 10 packages, 10 kg per package or a maximum of one Europalette. The courier or messenger will have to transport all deliveries to a designated storage unit after checking in with our staff. Our agents cannot accept and store your items at the front desk. You will be informed once your item(s) arrived and may pick it/them up during office hours.

Yes, of course. You can change units, add another storage room to your contract, increase or decrease depending on availability.

Noone! Only you and the people you authorized to do so. The storage units are locked with your private padlock that you can purchase at our shop if you like. If you want other people to have access to your unit, please inform your customer service representative when you sign the contract, as we may ask for identification if somone other than you uses your PIN Code.

Protect yourself against carpet and clothes moths. Although we do precautionary pest control on a regular basis, an infestation cannot be barred 100%. Textiles should be packed dry but not airsealed.

WeinStorage means wine storage (you might have guessed that...). We offer storage only for your wine in a separate storage area. Low light impact and the guarantee of an unchanging temperature (13-14 degrees celsius as well as a relative humidity of 73-74% +/- 5 degrees and %)) allow you to store red wine safely and for long periods of time. 

No. House rules say for your own security: ... no storage of vehicles and mashines that need operating fluids or materials. Water damaging material. That includes shortterm storage.

Only the lease governs the relationship between tenant and landlord.
Beyond this contract, there are no additional terms. A contract example can be found in Downloads (German only).
